Our client currently is looking to expand their housing division and in particular their planning department. They currently have a team of planners, including a couple of trainee planners. They need a more experienced individual with a construction planning background. This is to be based in their office in Hertfordshire.
The client is a privately owned construction and property development company. They have projects in both the public sector and the private sector. They have been operating for in excess of 100 years. Their extensive experience has led to them developing some of the best practices in the industry. Their turnover rose from £130mn in 2005 last year to £150mn in 2006. They have a projected turnover of over £200mn for 2007.
Projects include new housing, refurbishment of existing properties, affordable housing, key worker housing, and they have several other areas of expertise. As you can establish from this, the role is challenging and varied. These projects are primarily in London and the South East.
Experience required in order to apply:
-The ideal candidate will have 4-5 years UK construction planning experience (other candidates will be considered if you can demonstrate the ability to do the job)
-Experience of housing projects would give you an advantage, but it is not essential
-You require excellent communication skills as you will be responsible for communicating with both the planning team internally, clients externally and various site staff
Responsibilities:
-Tender and site planning
-Creating plans from pre construction through to completion
-Monitoring and reporting on the project progress
-Expanding the team in future
Remuneration:
Our client appreciates that good construction candidates are hard to come by, and as such they can offer a highly competitive salary befitting of the suitable individual's skills and experience.
They can pay a basic salary of up to £55,000 per annum and offer a generous benefits package. This will include a car allowance, healthcare and pension scheme.
