LEAD OFFSHORE PIPELINE ENGINEER

LOCATION: LONDON

SALARY: NEGOTIABLE

 

Core Responsibilities

·         To approve all technical decisions made by engineers allocated to his/her team for a particular project

·         To ensure that engineering is carried out in accordance with Project procedures and in accordance with the contractual requirements of the project, including budgets and schedules.

·         To identify and manage project design changes where appropriate

·         To continuously monitor team performance in terms of performance, man-hours and costs against the project’s programme and budget

·         To update the project management team with regard to project progress and to advise on any issues/problems arising

·         To submit regular progress reports to the Project Engineer covering team performance

·         To contribute to the development of engineering techniques within Project and draw attention to any inadequacies identified for present and/or future projects

·         Provide technical leadership and expertise in Pipeline Engineering and act as company specialist across projects.

·         To make positive contribution in the development and communication within the department.

·         Ensure Project delivers safe, maintainable, operable, best value plants in a timely manner.

·         Act as Field Engineer during the final stages of Construction, Commissioning and Pipeline Reinstatement. Approving all technical decisions of engineers under the Principals supervision.

·         Ensure that engineering is carried out in accordance with company procedures and contractual requirements to the agreed budget and schedule and in compliance with the EHS requirements.   .

·         Continuously monitor the performance of their team in terms of work hours, and costs against the project’s programme and budget

·         Presenting regular project progress and other reporting to the team and the Project Manager, including any problems, technical or otherwise, particularly with regard to costs, work hours, programme milestones and resources

·         Assist in the development of engineering techniques in the Group and to bring to the attention of the Project manager / Engineering Manager any inadequacies in the group’s capability for present or future projects.

·         Identifying and managing project design changes where relevant.

·         Manage team performance in respect of costs against project budgets.

·         Presenting regular project progress and other reporting to the team and the Project Manager.

·         Identifying any improvements to the company’s approach in developing engineering techniques.
