A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Senior Buildings Acoustic Consultant.
Joining a leading engineering consultancy, working alongside other core disciplines is the Acoustics Group which is one of the many specialist consulting teams that offer cutting edge design consultancy services.
This opening is for an experienced Senior Acoustic Design Specialist able to provide consultancy in architectural and engineering acoustics at both strategic and detailed level, working with development, design and construction professionals in the UK and abroad.
The chosen candidate will lead acoustic design on a range of challenging projects and have an important role in developing, managing and integrating acoustics work across the multi-disciplinary teams.
Focused on building acoustics, the role will also require knowledge and experience of building services, environmental noise, building vibration, electro-acoustics and audio systems.
The role will include the preparation and co-ordination of acoustic design advice for the development of projects across a broad range of market sectors. Key areas of experience could include tall buildings, buildings for performance, airports, convention centres, hotels and high quality residential. Experience of relevant legislation, standards and codes for both the UK and a wider international market would be expected. Modelling experience with building acoustics and environmental noise tools would also be an advantage
Your key responsibilities will include:
Providing consultancy and design covering all aspects of built environment development, but biased towards building fabric and building engineering systems.
Preparation of technical and financial input to proposals for acoustic design.
Knowledge, Training and Experience Required:
To be successful in your application, you will have a strong first or higher degree in acoustics, ideally combined with science, architecture, construction management or engineering studies at graduate or post graduate level . You will have significant acoustic design experience, with a track record of working on a broad range of buildings related project work in major national and international developments.
Membership of the IOA or equivalent body is strongly desired for this role.
Personal Qualities:
You will have excellent written, oral and visual communication skills and will be able to produce clear and concise information. Written work must be of a standard suitable for publication and you must be able to produce complex information in a readily understandable manner. Sound judgement is required formed by logical reasoning and solid analytical skills.
